Police in Appleton stopped a burglary in progress during a coordinated overnight search.
The Appleton Police Department was alerted to the crime in progress on Friday just after 1:00 a.m. at a warehouse in the 600 block of Hancock Street.
Upon arrival, officers and K9 units set up a perimeter around the building with drone teams assisting from the sky.
In a seamless, coordinated effort, officers were able to clear sections of the building while conducting a detailed search of the premises.
Eventually, the suspect was located, safely extracted, and taken into custody.
The suspect, 62-year-old Scott Gandt, was transported to the Outagamie County Jail as he faces charges of Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Methamphetamine, and a probation hold.
