A man from Seymour has been charged after allegedly choking a minor.
Court records show that 64-year-old James W. Beilfuss has been charged with felony counts of Strangulation and Suffocation and Child Abuse-Intentionally Causing Harm, along with a misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct for an incident that occurred on Tuesday (April 8th).
Beilfuss made his initial appearance inside an Outagamie County courtroom on Wednesday (April 9th).
WBAY reports that Beilfuss, the owner of Wally’s Seymour Bowling Alley, has been accused of choking a 13-year-old boy during a dispute.
The 64-year-old and the teenager both told police that they got into an argument over how the boy was bowling.
A criminal complaint then explains that the boy swore at the bowling alley’s owner, who responded by grabbing the 13-year-old by the neck but stopped once he realized that what he was doing was wrong.
The complaint goes on to say that numerous other kids at the bowling alley witnessed the incident and either quit playing or hid in the bathroom after the fact.
Another employee at Wally’s Seymour Bowling Alley who did not see the altercation occur sat in her car with the boy until an adult was able to pick him up.
Beilfuss will return to court on July 17th at 9:30 a.m.
