The SS Badger will be sailing in the evening hours this season.
Interlake Maritime Services, the parent company of the Badger, has announced that, from June 20th to September 1st, the carferry will make overnight crossings.
The iconic vessel will depart from Ludington, Michigan, at 8:45 p.m. Thursdays through Tuesdays, arriving in Manitowoc at around 11:45 p.m.
She will then depart from Manitowoc at 1:30 a.m. and dock in Ludington at around 6:30 a.m.
These additional crossings are in addition to the usual schedule, which sees the Badger departing Ludington at 9:00 a.m. and docking in Manitowoc at noon before departing Manitowoc at 2:00 p.m. and arriving in Ludington at 7:00 p.m.
The sailing season will open up on May 16th, and will run through October 12th.
