
Two leaders were honored at an annual event through the Rotary Club of Two Rivers.
The club’s annual Fundraising Dinner and Auction was held last Saturday (April 5th) at the Sepia Chapel.
Rotary Club President Dennis Swetlik awarded the Two Rivers Police Department the Community Recognition Award for their outstanding work and dedication in dealing with the Elijah Vue case.
Two Paul Harris Fellow Awards were also given out by the club.
Lester Public Library Director of Children’s Services Terry Ehle received one for her crucial role in growing the library’s youth programming, which reaches 25,000 children & families annually.
Rotary Club Two Rivers Club Member Betty Bittner said of Terry, “Her (Terry’s) dedication to fostering a love of reading & learning among the youth in Two Rivers is truly inspiring.”
Bittner gave the second Paul Harris Fellow award to TR Police Chief Ben Meinnert.
She said the department had a challenging year again, but Meinnert was integral in starting Big N Badges with the TR Public Schools & TRPD officers through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
