With their 60th anniversary just around the corner, Big Brothers Big Sisters WI Shoreline is also celebrating being named one of the top affiliates in the nation.
The local branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters was recently awarded the prestigious Platinum Award, which is the highest designation granted by Big Brothers Big Sisters America.
This is the 20th time BBBS WI Shoreline has received this honor and comes on the heels of a year of immense growth.
CEO Denise Wittstock noted in her 2024 Annual Report that the agency is serving 454 youths in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties, which is a 54% increase from the previous year.
Brad Reiser, the President Elect of the Board of Directors, said, “Receiving the Platinum Award Designation…reflects the dedication and hard work of our staff, board, volunteers, mentors, and community partners who make a positive difference in the lives of our local youth every day.”
On May 15th, BBBS WI Shoreline will officially achieve six decades of service locally. They were also the first BBBS agency in Wisconsin upon their founding in 1965.
Over that time, the organization has matched close to 35,000 “bigs”, or mentors, with “littles”, or mentees.
