
The Milwaukee Police Department has released crime statistics for the first quarter of 2025, showing a reduction in major crimes compared to the same period last year.
Police Chief Jeffery Norman and Mayor Cavalier Johnson shared the update during a press conference, revealing a 12 percent drop in major crimes overall.
However, the city has experienced a slight increase in homicides, with two more deaths compared to the previous year, marking a 9 percent rise.
Chief Norman also highlighted a concerning surge in human trafficking cases, which have risen by 50 percent.
