The Manitowoc man convicted in a child porn and stalking case has been sentenced.
54-year-old Paul Andrew Platt was previously found guilty due to no contest pleas on charges of Possession of Child Pornography, Stalking a Victim Under 18 Years of Age, Soliciting an Intimate Representation from a Minor, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, and two counts of Exposing a Child to Harmful Material.
Platt was ordered by Judge Mark Rohrer to spend a total of 14 years in state prison followed by 17 years on extended supervision.
The investigation into Platt began in May when the Sauk Prairie Police Department learned of a sexual conversation involving Platt and an underage victim.
He was arrested in June 2024 after Manitowoc police officers conducted a search warrant on his home, where they seized numerous hard drives, flash drives, and mobile devices, some containing child sexual assault material.
Platt is not eligible for the Challenge Incarceration Program and Substance Abuse Program, but he was given credit for 278 days served.
As a part of his probation, Platt was ordered to undergo a psychosexual evaluation, comply with the sex offender registry, have no contact with anyone under the age of 18, and to have no internet enabled devices unless approved by his agent.
