Police in Appleton stayed busy this past weekend.
The Appleton Police Department has shared that they made nine arrests this weekend for Operating While Intoxicated.
In their announcement, Appleton PD said, “Drunk driving is not just a crime—it’s a life-threatening decision. Each year, impaired driving leads to thousands of preventable crashes, injuries, and fatalities.”
Driving drunk puts not just a drivers life at risk but also the life of any other driver or pedestrian at risk as well.
With that in mind, authorities in Appleton offered tips to keep the community safe.
They include planning ahead, using alternative transportation methods, looking out for friends who may have had too much to drink, and reporting impaired drivers to the police.
The announcement ended by saying, “An OWI arrest can cost you thousands of dollars, your license, and even your life. Let’s work together to prevent impaired driving and keep Appleton’s roads safe for everyone.”
