
One person has been hospitalized after a motorized bike accident in Appleton over the weekend.
The Appleton Police Department stopped a group of individuals who were riding motorized bikes near the intersection of East College Avenue and Appleton Street on Saturday (April 5th) just after 8:30 p.m.
As officers identified and interviewed the group, one individual drove off on their bike into traffic.
The operator was then struck by a passing vehicle.
Police do not believe speed or impairment were a factor in the crash, however, the individual on the motorized bike sustained significant injuries.
Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene, and the unnamed individual was transported to a local hospital.
After the crash, College Avenue was closed between Oneida and Appleton Streets for multiple hours as authorities investigated the incident.
No further details on the crash that injured one are available at this time, but the Appleton Police Department has said they will provide additional information when they are able.
