A man from Kaukauna has been convicted for a drunk driving-related death.
22-year-old Zachary Burr was in court last week in Outagamie County for a plea hearing as he was charged with Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, Hit and Run-Involving Death, Homicide by Use of Vehicle with PAC, and Knowingly Operating While Revoked.
At the hearing, Burr was found guilty due to no contest pleas on the Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle and Hit and Run-Involving Death charges while the other two charges were dismissed.
The 22-year-old was arrested in Kaukauna in August after crashing his motorcycle at the intersection of Depot and Taylor Streets.
A 20-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle was found by emergency personnel at the scene face down in the street.
She was transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Burr fled the scene but was quickly tracked down by the Kaukauna Police Department.
Burr returns to court on June 16th for his sentencing hearing.
