A man has been arrested in connection to the fatal motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac at the end of March.
The Fond du Lac Police Department has shared that, following rigorous investigation, 67-year-old Mark Snider has been arrested for his role in a crash that killed 26-year-old Elijah Sowin on March 28th.
Snider is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail as he has been charged with First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Second-Degree Reckless Homicide.
Investigations and witness reports have led police to believe that Snider intentionally swerved into the path of Sowin’s motorcycle in the 600 block of South Main Street.
As a result, Sowin crashed into the driver’s side of Snider’s vehicle.
Sowin suffered significant injuries that he would later succumb to at a Fond du Lac hospital.
In a statement regarding the arrest, Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein said, “This was not an accident, but a deliberate and dangerous act that led directly to the death of a young man from our greater Fond du Lac community. Reckless driving, especially actions intended to harm or endanger others, will not be tolerated.”
Snider has had his bond set at $100,000 cash and will be in court for a preliminary hearing on April 10th.
