Authorities believe no foul play was involved after discovering a dead body in a ditch in Fond du Lac County.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched on Monday (March 24th) to a car in the ditch of State Highway 23 in the Town of Ripon just before 7:00 a.m.
Upon arrival, Deputies observed the vehicle adjacent to a residential driveway.
An unnamed individual was also located on the ground next to the vehicle and was determined to have passed away before the arrival of law enforcement.
The Sheriff’s Office and the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner then worked to determine the circumstances of the individual’s death, who was confirmed as the owner of the vehicle and residence by which they were found.
The investigation into the person’s death remains ongoing, however, the Medical Examiner’s Office has come to believe no foul play is suspected.
The cause of death has been classified as a medical emergency unrelated to the vehicle leaving the roadway and entering the ditch.
