Members of a local nature reserve have not seen any bird flu cases where they are.
Woodland Dunes Executive Director Sue Crowley says while they haven’t seen it personally, they do want residents to keep an eye out for it.
She noted, “It’s also known as the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza or HPA just in case you hear it referred to as that.”
Crowley also said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that the International Crane Foundation has a website with a form for residents to fill out if they see a dead bird or a bird that seems to be suffering from symptoms of the bird flu.
The website is bit.ly/wisbirdflu. She also reminds residents not to touch any dead bird they encounter.
Bird flu cases can also be reported through the Wisconsin DNR.
