A Kewaunee County man is dead after a tractor roll-over accident.
WBAY reports that the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Office was called to a private property in the Town of Pierce for someone trapped under a tractor that had rolled over.
Sheriff’s deputies found the operator of the tractor, 48-year-old Shawn Gau, still trapped.
Gau was later pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
The tractor was removed, and the Wisconsin DNR was contacted due to a leakage of fluids near a river.
Initial investigations determined that Gau was attempting to free a second piece of equipment that had gotten stuck, but the tractor became unstable and rolled over.
The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating.
