Sheboygan Christian School recently received tens of thousands of donation dollars for its student-run coffee shop.
The Blessed Bean, Sheboygan Christian’s in-school coffee shop, was the subject of a $60,000 donation from Jos. Schmitt Construction Company.
Sheboygan Christian is currently in Phase Three of its building addition and part of this will see the entire cafeteria footprint remodeled, including the Blessed Bean being demolished.
With this in mind, business students began planning for a reimagined café and soon realized their plans would cost approximately $55,000.
Jos. Schmitt Construction, the school’s building partner for previous projects and Phase Three, didn’t like the idea that they were about to demolish the students’ thriving business and stepped in to provide full funding for the new-look Blessed Bean coffee shop.
The students, teachers, and administrators were blown away by the donation that went over the estimated budget for the new coffee shop.
The Blessed Bean began as a coffee cart at Sheboygan Christian School before moving into the cafeteria in a more permanent location in 2022.
