The Manitowoc County Historical Society is ready to celebrate 100 years since the organization was gifted a historical flag.
The flag of Company A, a Civil War era unit, was given to the organization after quite the journey, James Anderson and other survivors of the company retained it in their possession until 1925.
With just a few men left from the 5th Wisconsin, Company A, the flag was restored and gifted to the Manitowoc County Historical Society, where it remains a symbol of the community.
The public is invited to the free celebration on Thursday, March 27th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Manitowoc Public Library.
