A classic Disney story will be brought to life at Manitowoc Lutheran High School this week.
Students will put on a rendition of Newsies starting March 14th.
The musical tells the story of New York City newsboy Jack “Cowboy” Kelly as he befriends two newcomers to his trade, brothers David and Les Jacobs.
When publisher Joseph Pulitzer sets new rules that make it harder for the young newspaper salesmen to make a buck, the boys go on strike.
The opening performance at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14th, will be a non-ticketed event, with nearly 1,000 students from Lakeshore Lutheran Schools coming to enjoy the show.
The performances are the grand finale of “Tech Week” at the school, where students will be running dress rehearsals, sound checks, A/V tests, doing social media interviews and more.
The three other performances will be held at 7:00 p.m. March 14th and 15th, and 2:00 p.m. on Mach 16th.
