A park in Sheboygan is preparing for one of its yearly traditions.
Maywood Environmental Park is set to hold its 37th annual Flapjack Day on March 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The annual event offers attendees the opportunity to celebrate the tradition of maple sugaring which is done at Maywood.
All-you-can-eat pancakes for breakfast will accompany lumberjack games and tours of the maple forest and the park’s sugaring house.
Each spring, approximately 75 sugar maple trees are tapped for sap collection which is then turned into maple syrup.
Tickets to the event are now available for purchase and will cost $10 for those ages 12 and up, $5 for those ages 3-11, and those two years or younger are free.
Maywood is also seeking volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly, those interested in volunteering can contact Nate with Maywood at 920-459-3906.
Tickets to the 37th annual Flapjack Day celebration can be purchased at the Maywood Ecology Center or online by visiting gomaywood.org/events.
