A Green Bay man charged with killing a man and his dog will stand trial.
34-year-old James Dorr was inside a Brown County courtroom on Wednesday (March 5th) for a status conference where Judge Marc Hammer had him bound over for trial.
At Wednesday’s hearing, the 34-year-old also waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Dorr has been charged with First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Mistreatment of Animals Causing Death, and Possession of Methamphetamine, along with two misdemeanor counts of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
According to a criminal complaint, Dorr killed the victim and his dog because he was “having thoughts and seeing his daughter and daughter’s mom get raped and murdered.”
The complaint continued to show that the victim was stabbed 27 times, including 15 stab wounds to the chest.
When asked about the dog, Dorr allegedly said it was stupid of him to kill the dog.
Dorr will return to court on April 14th for his arraignment.
