Police in Menasha recently diffused a situation involving an armed man making threats.
The Menasha Police Department responded to a welfare check call on Tuesday (March 4th) in the 600 block of Ninth Street.
The initial call reported that a man was armed with a gun and was threatening to harm himself.
Responding officers were able to make contact with the male, who was eventually brought into custody for his own safety before being transported to a medical facility for evaluation and further support.
No one was hurt during the incident.
After the situation was diffused, Menasha Police Chief Nick Thorn said, “Mental health struggles can be very difficult, and we are thankful this situation ended peacefully. We want people to know that help is available, and no one has to go through tough times alone.”
Additionally, Menasha PD has encouraged anyone in the community facing a mental health crisis to reach out for help.
