After several weeks of very little change, the gas prices in Eastern Wisconsin rose significantly over the past week.
As reported on the AAA Gas Prices webpage, Manitowoc County’s average price per gallon of regular unleaded fuel rose seven cents since this time last week, the smallest increase in the area.
Sheboygan County motorists are paying twelve cents more per gallon this week with an average of $2.95, while Calumet County saw an eleven-cent bump to $2.97.
Outagamie County saw an eight-cent jump to $2.92, while Brown County reported the largest increase in the area, eighteen cents to $2.98.
Kewaunee and Door Counties now have an average price per gallon over $3.00.
Kewaunee County’s fifteen-cent jump puts their average at $3.01, while Door County’s jump of eight cents lands them at $3.03 per gallon.
The state average also rose significantly, jumping seven cents to $2.93, while the national average is up four cents to $3.10 per gallon.
If year-over-year trends continue, Eastern Wisconsin can expect a couple of months of rising or steady gas prices followed by a drop off sometime in the summer or early fall.
