The Manitowoc International Relations Association is ringing the last call bell for the upcoming student exchange with Kamogawa Japan.
Each year, MIRA organizes the exchange with Manitowoc’s sister city to give local students a taste of life in Japan, and to give the Japanese students an opportunity to experience Wisconsin nice.
The program is open to any student at a Manitowoc area high school, who is able to attend pre-travel meetings and understand and fulfill the responsibilities of being an ambassador.
Applicants must submit an essay introducing yourself and outlining your hopes and expectations for the trip along with two letters of recommendation, including one from a parent and one from another adult, to tourism@Manitowoc.org.
Applications are due by Thursday (March 6th).
This year’s exchange is scheduled for July 20th through August 8th, with the local students making the trip to Japan first.
