A police pursuit ended in Fond du Lac County with a suspect and passenger receiving minor injuries.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said yesterday afternoon (March 4th), just after 12:40 pm, they got a call about a vehicle traveling on southbound Interstate 41 near Highway 26 in Winnebago County going faster than 100 miles per hour and passing other vehicles on the shoulder.
A Wisconsin State Trooper attempted to catch the vehicle but couldn’t.
A Fond du Lac County Sergeant found the vehicle driving on Highway 175 near County Highway B in the Township of Byron.
The sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the 25-year-old suspect continued driving and started a pursuit.
As the suspect’s vehicle entered the intersection of County Highway 175 and County Highway F, it sideswiped a milk-carrying semi and entered a ditch, striking a telephone pole.
The driver from Waukesha tried to run but was quickly captured.
He and a female passenger were taken from the scene by City of Fond du Lac paramedics for their injuries.
Charges for the 25-year-old man include felony eluding and first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
