An investigation is underway following a fatal crash involving a police officer after a traffic stop attempt in Iowa County.
The driver, who initially tried to evade the trooper, led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit.
The chase concluded when the suspect crashed their vehicle near Blue Mounds, located about 30 miles west of Madison.
The individual was confirmed dead at the scene, with no other reported injuries.
The Division of Criminal Investigation is overseeing the case.
