Nissan cars have become the second most stolen vehicles in Milwaukee due to a vulnerability in their key fobs.
Milwaukee police report that a reprogramming tool enables thieves to access the key fob’s signal, which is strong enough to be intercepted even if the fob is inside a home.
So far, nine thefts have been reported in the area.
Drivers are urged to protect their key fobs by storing them in a metal container or wrapping them in aluminum foil.
