After nearly 40 years, a hallmark at Lakeland University has announced their retirement.
Jane Bouche, Senior Director of Recruitment and Marketing for the evening and online programs at the university, announced her retirement after 36 years of service to Lakeland.
Bouche had previously served in other administrative roles such as Director of Admissions and Admissions Advisor while playing a major role in program development.
She also made her mark on the athletics program in her time, originally joining Lakeland in 1989 as a softball and women’s basketball coach.
As a basketball coach, her teams were nationally recognized for their commitment to defense.
As a softball coach, her teams won six regular season or tournament championships in eight years at the helm.
Bouche also ranks as the winningest coach in Muskie softball history.
She was then named Athletic Director in 1993 and led many significant changes for the athletic department including the transition from NAIA to becoming a member of the NCAA Division Three.
Bouche was inducted into the Lakeland Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014 for her impact on the university and students alike.
