The Roncalli Catholic School District is the latest to fall victim to a social media threat.
According to a letter from the district, Roncalli Middle School was made aware of a possible threat this morning (February 25th) on social media.
They immediately followed protocols and contacted the Manitowoc Police Department, who is investigating the incident and has assured the district that there is no danger to students.
A student is currently in custody with police and is being questioned.
A statement from Roncalli Catholic President John Stelzer and Middle School Principal Steve Thiele explained that all threats are taken seriously, and they will be following up with the middle school students about the situation and the seriousness of making comments on social media.
Counseling staff will also be available to provide support. Steltzer and Thiele also encourage parents to monitor their kids’ social media use.
Manitowoc Police tell Seehafernews.com that more information will be released later today.
