An area hospital is being recognized as one of the best rural and community hospitals.
Aurora Medical Center- Manitowoc County explained they’ve been named among the 2025 Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals by the Chartis Center for Rural Health for a fourth year in a row.
The announcement says the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance Index is used nationwide by rural hospitals, health systems with rural affiliates, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
Aurora Manitowoc County President Cathie Kocourek explained, “Every member of our team is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care, as evidenced by our exemplary patient outcomes.”
Other hospitals that made the list are in Stevens Point, Baraboo, and Fort Atkinson.
