
A lengthy armed standoff between police and a suspect in Grand Chute resulted in an arrest.
The Grand Chute Police Department received a weapons complaint in the 600 block of South Mayflower Drive on Tuesday (February 18th) just before 7:30 p.m.
The initial report claimed that a gunshot had been fired inside the residence.
Arriving officers were able to make contact with the one who reported the incident, who was able to exit the home on their own, leaving the one who fired the gun alone in the house.
It was also reported to officers that the individual was armed with multiple firearms.
Additional law enforcement arrived on the scene to set up a perimeter and close surrounding roads as an extensive armed standoff between police and the suspect ensued.
Outagamie County Dispatchers were able to negotiate with the individual for several hours before officers on the scene established contact with the unnamed suspect.
Following this, the lengthy standoff came to an end after more than five hours when the suspect was taken into custody without further incident in the early morning hours of Wednesday (February 19th).
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
