A Menasha woman has been sentenced for killing her boyfriend.
54-year-old Catherine Cheskie was present inside a Winnebago County courtroom on Tuesday (February 18th) for her sentencing hearing, where Judge Daniel Bissett deemed she would spend the rest of her life in prison.
While the life sentence is mandatory for First Degree Intentional Homicide, Cheskie will be eligible for parole after 30 years.
The 54-year-old was found guilty in a jury trial on January 4th for shooting and killing her boyfriend, Thomas Guyette, inside her Menasha home on February 24th, 2024.
A resident home at the time heard the two arguing upstairs before hearing a gunshot.
The witness then went upstairs to find Guyette with a gunshot wound to his chest.
The man called 911; however, Guyette had died before EMS and police arrived at the scene.
Cheskie will return to court in Winnebago County for a restitution hearing on March 4th.
