The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is offering grants to businesses and schools throughout the state.
The DWD’s Fast Forward grants applications are open but will be closing soon.
Standard Fast Forward grants aim to ward funding to companies that reimburse the costs of specialized training for unemployed, underemployed, or incumbent employees.
The training hopes to create qualified workers with better opportunities for full-time employment, increased wages, or higher-level employment.
Standard Fast Forward grants may range from $5,000 to $400,000. Expanded Fast Forward Grants will be awarded to schools to reimburse them for costs related to training high school students in advanced manufacturing or construction fields.
This expanded funding is being offered in part to help address Wisconsin’s substantial skilled worker shortage.
These grants will range from $5,000 to $100,000 per grantee, with a total of $1 million being made available.
The deadline to apply for the Expanded Fast Forward grant funding is today (February 18th) at 3:00 p.m., while applications for Standard Fast Forward grants will remain open until March 11th.
