
A man convicted of driving into a Fond du Lac Verizon store has been sentenced.
WBAY reports that 22-year-old Benjamin Ayer was sentenced to serve a year and nine months of conditional jail time and 11 years of probation.
He pleaded no contest to charges to eight charges including four counts of 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety and causing injury under the influence at a court hearing last month.
Ayer huffed electronic duster cleaner before he started driving in April 2023.
He jumped a curb and hit the Verizon store on Rolling Meadows Drive causing the injury of six people.
One woman was also trapped under his car. She suffered numerous broken bones and was taken to the hospital.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney asked for 10 to 13 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.
