A public health alert has been issued for some food products shipped to the Midwest.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued the alert for two separate types of pasties sold by The Pasty Oven company due to misbranding and the presence of an undeclared allergen.
Both eight-ounce packages and fifteen-pound cases of chicken and cheese, as well as pizza pasties, were made using eggs, which are a known allergen.
The products also do not list eggs in their ingredients list.
The products in question will have best-by dates of December 11th, 2025, or prior.
The FSIS has confirmed that the pasties were shipped to Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.
While a recall has not been declared, the public health alert was issued to notify those with egg allergies that the products should not be consumed.
