Authorities have identified the individual who was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Milwaukee earlier this week.
Police say 24-year-old Isaiah Stott was shot and killed after he fired a semiautomatic rifle at an officer on 24th Street, near Wisconsin Avenue, just before noon on Wednesday.
The officer was injured in the leg and stomach and is currently recovering in the hospital after surgery, according to Milwaukee Police Association President Alexander Ayala.
Stott’s father shared with WDJT-TV that his son, a Marine Corps veteran, had been struggling with mental health issues.
