The Green Bay Police Department has released its traffic safety plan for February.
Each month, the department releases a traffic safety plan that provides crash data from the previous month, traffic stop information, and other figures that shape their traffic enforcement for the following month.
This month’s plan shows that in the City of Green Bay, there were 223 total car crashes.
None of these crashes were fatal, however, 32 resulted in injury, 191 caused property damage, and 47 involved a case of hit and run.
Additionally, Green Bay officers conducted 676 traffic stops, resulting in 671 citations being handed out.
Of those 676 stops, 38 led to a driver being arrested for OWI.
The monthly traffic safety plans also use a predictive analysis tool via the Wisconsin DOT that compiles crash details from the past three years in order to determine priority enforcement areas.
This data has shown that crashes have a high likelihood of occurring in the next 30 days on Webster Avenue, East Mason Street, Highway 141, and Highway 54 and will see heightened police enforcement this month.
