A study conducted by researchers at the University of Wisconsin has found no significant reduction in concussions among athletes using soft football helmet covers.
The research, part of a study at the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, followed high school football players during the 2023 season.
Among the 1,200 players who wore Guardian Caps during practice, 33 experienced concussions.
Meanwhile, 31 concussions were reported among the 1,400 players who did not use the covers.
It’s important to note that the Guardian Caps were not worn during games.
