A non-profit in the Sheboygan area has recently celebrated a major milestone.
The Sheboygan County Food Bank celebrated its third anniversary of helping community members who struggle with hunger.
Partnering with food pantries and other organizations, Sheboygan County’s food bank ensures approximately 300 families in need are getting fresh and nutritious meals.
Per their last snapshot, roughly eleven percent of Sheboygan County residents struggle with hunger, including thousands of children ages 5-17.
In an effort to combat this, last year alone, the food bank’s volunteers put in over 13,000 hours of work in order to get more than 1.2 million pounds of food distributed throughout the county.
