The mother of Elijah Vue will be back in court for the first time since December.
The now 32-year-old Katrina Baur will return to a Manitowoc County Courtroom this morning for a status conference.
She is facing charges in the death of Elijah after his remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers in September last year.
Elijah was reported missing almost one year ago this month.
A massive search that included law enforcement and the public ensued, and Elijah’s blanket was found early on.
In a criminal complaint, prosecutors say Katrina sent the toddler to her boyfriend, 40-year-old Jesse Vang, for “disciplinary purposes” and to correct Elijah’s “bad behavior.”
Text messages also allegedly showed that she asked Vang to report Elijah missing.
She’s facing charges of chronic child neglect; the consequence is death, neglecting a child, and two counts of obstruction.
Vang won’t return to court until next month.
He faces charges of physical abuse to a child, causing death.
