Menasha’s public library has reopened after a multi-million dollar renovation project.
The Elisha D. Smith Public Library, located at 440 First Street, reopened its doors on Saturday (February 8th) following the completion of a nine-month, $9 million overhaul.
The library closed in May of last year with construction taking place between July of 2024 through January of this year.
After a temporary move to the UW-Fox Valley campus, January saw library staff return to the public library to prepare for this weekend’s reopening.
The renovations are highlighted by the addition of five new study/conference rooms, an open entrance space, a SMITHworks maker space, and much more.
The $9 million for the project came from mostly private, local donations and also paid for new roofing and sidewalks at no cost to taxpayers.
