Governor Tony Evers and Attorney General Josh Kaul are joining forces with officials from 21 other states to file a lawsuit against the Trump Administration.
This is in regard to significant cuts to medical research funding.
The litigation was filed yesterday following the announcement from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that all indirect research cost reimbursements will be reduced to just 15 percent.
Leaders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison argue that this decision is severely hindering research efforts aimed at finding treatments and cures for serious illnesses.
The lawsuit contends that these cuts violate existing laws governing NIH funding.
