One is in custody after an armed standoff with law enforcement in Kimberly this weekend.
The Fox Valley Metro Police Department was called just before 10:00 a.m. Friday (February 7th) to the 400 block of Kimberly Avenue on a report of a disturbance with a weapon.
Arriving officers learned that an adult female victim had been stabbed and that a 38-year-old man armed with a knife was also in the residence.
The armed man refused to comply with law enforcement causing drone teams and the Outagamie County Law Enforcement Emergency Response Team to be called to the scene.
A perimeter was set up and a lengthy standoff ensued as police attempted to reason with the 38-year-old.
Probable cause was determined that the individual had committed a crime and a search warrant was obtained.
Just before 3:45 p.m., authorities gained entry to the home, and a K9 unit was deployed.
The unidentified suspect was then taken into custody without further incident.
The female victim was transported to a local hospital to treat multiple stab wounds; however, she is in stable condition.
Fox Valley PD was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Kimberly EMS and First Responders, Gold Cross EMS, and the Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team.
