A 23-year-old man from Madison was taken into custody after a police chase in Monona on Saturday afternoon.
Officers attempted to stop the driver around 12:50 p.m. for having excessively tinted windows.
The suspect fled, driving through Highway 12 into Fitchburg before returning to Monona. During the pursuit, he discarded drug-related evidence out of his vehicle.
The chase ended when the suspect exited the car in a department store parking lot, with the vehicle crashing into an unattended car.
Police arrested the man inside the store and recovered a 9mm handgun, marijuana, and numerous counterfeit $100 bills.
