A Sheboygan Alder has filed for non-candidacy.
Minutes from the January 15th Mead Public Library Board of Trustees meeting show that Alder Angela Ramey will not be seeking reelection in the spring election.
Ramey, a member of the Board of Trustees, has not given a concrete resignation date.
However, the minutes from the meeting also reveal that a new Alder will be appointed by Mayor Ryan Sorenson to complete the rest of Ramey’s term.
Ramey was elected to the Common Council by the council themselves to fill a vacant seat in May of 2022 after beating out Josh Flick by a 7-2 vote.
In addition to being on the library’s Board of Trustees, Councilwoman Ramey also held a position on the city’s Public Works Committee as well.
