An officer with the Manitowoc Police Department has been promoted.
Police Chief Nick Reimer has announced that Temporary Detective Alex Nebel has been selected to fill their vacant Detective position. Detective Nebel has been a patrol officer in Manitowoc since June 2016.
In his time before his promotion, Nebel trained and earned certificates in Evidence Tech/Crime Scene Processing and Mental Health Awareness.
He is also highly decorated, having been named the Eagles Club Police Officer of the Year in 2022, received the Award of Valor in 2020 for saving a man’s life while off duty, and was named Employee of the Quarter in 2020’s second quarter.
Detective Nebel also enjoys volunteering in the community with initiatives like Shop with a Cop, Stuff the Squad, Police Lights of Christmas, and others.
