A former Sheboygan Common Council and Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) Board member has passed away.
Terry Kath died at the age of 91 on January 30th at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Kath, who was born in Sheboygan, graduated from Central High School in 1952 before serving as a Korean War-era veteran overseas, spending time stationed in Germany.
He was elected to the city’s Common Council in 1961, reelected in 1963, and once again elected in 1993.
After serving on the council, Kath was elected to the SASD Board in the 1980’s.
Kath was also heavily active in the city’s theater productions since the ’50s and, in 1996, was honored with a Lifetime Membership by the Sheboygan Theatre Company for over 40 years of service.
The Kath family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice, the staff at Harvest Home in Howards Grove, and the staff at Dr. Hemsing’s office for their help and compassion to Terry and his family.
