The City of Plymouth is accepting proposals from artists for a permanent art installation at a newly constructed park.
An art installation at Stayer Park, located at the site of the former Strutz Financial building, was approved in the fall of 2023 and artists are encouraged to submit their proposals by the February 28th deadline.
Stayer Park features a “Nature” theme focusing on trees, flowers, and wildlife, and proposals building off this are also encouraged.
City officials have also said a preference will be given to creative, site-specific proposals with a focus on local artists.
As part of any proposal for the space, artists are to include design, fabrication, and installation details as well as visit the site prior to submitting a proposal.
A $20,000 budget will be awarded to the winner, and all artists must be 18 years or older to be considered.
The City prefers to have the artwork installed before October 31st of this year, however, availability to meet that preference will not impact their decision in selecting a winner.
Artists interested in submitting proposals can do so by contacting Jack Johnston at jjohnston@plymouthwi.gov and more information on the Stayer Park art installation can be found online at plymouthgov.com.
