An aviation company based in the Fox Valley is laying off hundreds of employees.
According to a layoff notice obtained by Wisconsin Public Radio, Air Wisconsin Airlines will be laying off more than 500 employees, many of whom work in Appleton.
The notice says 513 employees will be affected, including 219 management or salaried individuals and 294 union or represented employees, beginning as soon as March 31st.
This move in workforce reduction comes after Air Wisconsin Airlines announced last month that its capacity purchase agreement with American Airlines will be terminated, effective April 3rd.
Those most affected include A and P Mechanics, Flight Attendants, and CRJ First Officers at both the Appleton and Milwaukee locations.
In the notice, Air Wisconsin Airlines VP of Human Resources Tina Vos said, “Each employee who may be affected by any reduction in workforce has been notified and provided with the regulatory required information. The Company will ensure that any affected employees will be paid all earned wages and agreed upon benefits at the time of separation.”
Anyone who wants more information regarding the layoffs can contact Vos at 920-749-4244.
