A Manitowoc man is facing charges after an alleged sexual assault.
Officers spoke with the victim the evening of January 28th, after finding them walking near Legend Larry’s in downtown Manitowoc.
The victim, whose age and gender were redacted in the police report, told investigators that they were waiting outside of the Marathon gas station on Washington Street for a friend they were supposed to meet.
However, a van with three men inside pulled up, and one of them told the victim her friend asked them to pick her up.
The victim went with the men as they had no cell phone to contact the friend.
The trio brought her to a nearby house, and the victim went to a bedroom to wait.
A 24-year-old man followed her into the bedroom, retrieved a condom from a dresser, and shut the lights off.
The victim reportedly told the man “I don’t want to do this”, to which the man responded, “It’s fine. Don’t worry,” and “Don’t make me sad.”
The two engaged in sex, despite the victim saying they did not want to, and the victim left the residence after it was over.
They told police they discarded the used condom outside of the residence and called the police.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday (February 1st) and claimed the sex was consensual.
He told police “I did not force (the victim) into anything.”
Despite his claims of innocence, the man was charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Assault,
