Lakeland University has formed a new partnership to celebrate Black History Month.
Nationally, February is Black History Month and Lakeland has partnered with Black American Community Outreach (BACO) for a special event.
The event entitled Essence of the Labor Movement: Things your History Teacher Didn’t Teach will be held on Saturday, February 15th, at the Weill Center at 6:00 p.m.
There will also be a pre-event reception, which starts at 5:00 p.m.
The night is set to feature celebrations of black history with a showcase led by Master of Ceremonies and a Lakeland grad, Rodney Ellison.
Judge Derek Mosley, director at Marquette University Law School, will also deliver the keynote address.
BACO is a community-based organization created intending to empower, educate, promote, and support black culture and the Sheboygan community.
The event will not be ticketed and is free for the public to attend.
