As actors and musicians in Hollywood are gearing up to be honored for their contributions to the world of entertainment, the Chamber of Manitowoc County is looking to do the same for those who make our community a better place to live, work, and play.
The 2025 Awards of Distinction will once again be held in the Capitol Civic Center on Thursday, February 13th, which Chamber Executive Director Abbey Quistorf says helps bring the glitz and glamour of shows like the Oscars or Grammys to Manitowoc.
“The Capitol has kind of that cool old Hollywood vibe,” she said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program. “It’s a perfect venue to do an awards program,” she said. “And it’s a true awards show.”
This year’s show also brings with it a special guest co-master of ceremonies.
Quistorf announced that Candice Giesen, the Director of Development for Roncalli Catholic Schools, will be leading the show, along with Miss Wisconsin 2024 Mandi Genord.
As always, there will be ten awards handed out to businesses and individuals who have helped shape the lakeshore.
The awards include Volunteer of the Year, the Educational Award, Small and Large Businesses of the Year, Young Professional of the Year, the Collaboration Award, Healthiest Workplace, the Athena Award, and the prestigious Joesph P. Schmitt “Speak Up” Award.
Quistorf says “If you are passionate about your community and you want to hear about the great stories and the great things that are happening, I encourage you to attend.”
Tickets are $55 and can be purchased at ChamberManitowocCounty.org.
